FIFA 18: The Most Popular and Highest Scoring MLS Players

Apr 02,2018

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is on his way to the MLS, and his new signing with LA Galaxy has already become the headline news.

In FIFA 18, his move has created the highest rated basic card that the MLS has ever had in Ultimate Team. So will he immediately become the most popular MLS card in the game too?

Here MLSSoccer.com has done some analysis and found the most popular players from the league in FUT so far, as well as the top 10 MLS goalscorers in the game, and the most used teams.

The top five most used players in the FUT from the MLS may not be that surprising. The Los Angeles Galaxy has two players in the list: Romain Alessandrini, who is ranked the first, and  Jonathan dos Santon, who is ranked the fourth. Alessandrini's speed is very fast, especially with his amazing In-Form card which has 93 pace.

Gyasi Zardes of the Columbus Crew SC was ranked the second. He was a highly rated silver player, and an English player, New York Red Bulls' Bradley Wright-Phillips, ranked at number 3. Chicago Fire's Bastian Schweinsteiger, a former World Cup winner rounds out the list at number 5.

Not surprisingly, people like to abuse Alessandrini's speed, and he is also at the top of the MLS goalscoring list in Ultimate Team.

Gyasi Zardes also scored a lot, and ranking third is New York City FC's Andrea Pirlo. We imagine that most of those are penalties.

As for the most used teams in Career Mode, people like to use LA Galaxy the most. Atlanta United only started playing in the MLS last year, and that may be the reason behind them being the second most played team.

New York City FC are third in the list, Toronto FC are fourth, and the Seattle Sounders are in fifth.

Of course, many people in North America use these MLS teams, but they are also very popular elsewhere. According to MLSSoccer, the United Kingdom is the top MLS user outside of the US and Canada, followed by Brazil, Germany, France and Italy.
